I'm currently facing an issue with our crystal reports clients.
When Crystal Reports 2013 SP06 P02 is installed together with SAP GUI 7.4 and NWBC 5.0 on a client machine, you are not able to select BW systems from your systems list when refreshing a report or opening/creating a report via SAP toolbar in the CR client. This is because the system information is stored in xml-files. In previous versions, these informations have been stored in the saplogon.ini-file which CR will read.
This issue is decribed in SAP notes 2163607 and 2176489. We successfully applied the described Workaround (manually copy saplogon.ini file in the necessary folder), but I'm looking for a long term solution which doesn't need manually adjustments.
While searching for a solution, I came up with the following questions:
1. Will there be a version/patch level of Crystal Reports 2013 which is able to read the SAPUILAndscape.xml file? Where can I find this information?
2. Note 2163607 references to relevant support package versions, which can be installed as solution. However, in the section “Support Packages and Patches” only server packages for BI platform are listed. How does updating our BI platform servers will affect this issue which appears on the client machines?
Since this technical issue is already resolved and described in these notes, I hesitate to report an incident and I hope you can help me with my questions.
