How to determine EAN category from EAN number in material master

Hi All,

We are receiving input file which are used create material master via IDoc. That is working fine. Input file also contains EAN number and EAN category.

Using EAN number, we have to determine EAN category and validate the same. If it is valid EAN category, then it is fine. But if not, then determine correct EAN category.

So, basically looking for process to determine EAN category using EAN number. Any process or function module?
